At its Installation meeting on the 28th October at the Hill, Stroud, the Stroud Preceptory of St. Michael was honoured to receive the Right Eminent Knight Peter Burrows, Provincial Prior for the Province of Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, accompanied by Eminent Knight Phillip Andrew Wightman P Gt Chamb, the Provincial Sub-Prior, and a goodly number of Gt Officers and Provincial Officers.
The Provincial Prior and his retinue entered the Preceptory through the Arch of Steel at which the Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard played a large, and very professional part.
The main business of the evening was to install Em Kt Christopher John Furmston as Em Preceptor and Em Prior. Both installations were dutifully carried out by the Installing Officer, Em Kt Andrew Paisey. Following the Installation of EM Kt Furmston, the Provincial Prior gave his usual address to the new Preceptor.
The Provincial Prior was pleased to see that the newly appointed 1st & 2nd Constables were both Bro Kts and greeted them personally with documents explaining their roles and wished them well in their progression in the coming years.
The Provincial Prior later commented how pleased he was to see such good support for the visit from both Gt Officers and those of his Provincial Officers.
The evening concluded in harmony at an enjoyable refectory.
