The somewhat elaborate Regalia is based on the dress worn by the Crusaders. The Knights Templar (‘KT’) wear a white tunic faced with a Red Cross, together with a white mantle and a red cap, each also bearing a cross, and also wear a sash, belt and sword, though not a two-handed one as was in general use among the Crusaders.

In the Order of Malta (‘KM’) a red tunic, black mantle and a black cap is worn, each bearing an Amalfi Cross, also together with a belt and a sword. In addition, in each of the Orders, various appropriate jewels are worn.

The Knight Templar Regalia consists of:

  • Red cap and Badge
  • White Tunic
  • White Mantle
  • Black Sash
  • Star Jewel
  • Knights Cross Jewel
  • Belt with Frog and Sword
  • Black Gloves

The Knights of Malta regalia consists of:

  • Black cap and Badge
  • Red Tunic
  • Black Mantle
  • Breast Jewel

The belt with frog, sword and black gloves used for Knights Templar may also be used for the Knights of Malta.

New and used Regalia is available at very favourable prices from the Provincial Warden of Regalia, Steve Dodson.
